Sustainability

At bracelets for charity we try our very best to be as sustainable as possible while also using high quality materials. Our jewellery and packaging is made from different types of materials. Here we give you more information about the materials used and why.

Recycled paper
We use recycled paper for our envelopes, thank you cards and jewellery cards, therefor they are brownish in color. Recycled paper is the greenest option, it uses less energy, water, and produces lower carbon emissions than the manufacturing of non-recycled paper. Paper can be recycled 4 to 5 times so be sure to recycle yours as well!

Stainless steel
All of our clasps, gold and silver, are made of stainless steel. The advantage of stainless steel is that, with good care, it retains its color for a long time. So no rusted clasps, but jewellery with long durability and high quality. Be extra careful with chlorine, because chlorine affects the protective layer of stainless steel and can affect the color.

Glass beads
The glass beads we use are of high quality, but to prevent discolouration we recommend not to shower or swim with you jewellery. The gold and silver beads contain a layer of gold/silver plating. Over time, the plating can wear off and the clear glass bead becomes visible under the layer. This process is accelerated when in contact with water and contact with creams and perfumes.

We recommend to remove your jewellery when:

  • Sleeping
  • Taking a shower
  • Swimming, especially in a swimming pool
  • Doing a workout/sports
  • Applying cosmetica like body lotion
